Here's a little bit about where I've
gained my experience.

MATICIAN

Product Manager

This was my latest and greatest placement. I was able to learn, grow, and explore what it meant to be a Product Manager. I was given the freedom and encouragement to ask questions and dive deeper into what really drives consumer's choices.

  • Named the first product.
  • Outlined the company's first Minimum Viable Product.
  • Led the mechanical, software, and product design team towards decisions and prioritize tasks.
  • Created a bank of research based results to back up product decisions.
  • Wrote the first press release before the launch of the product.
  • Like in any startup, I got my hands dirty and helped wherever and whenever necessary.

SHOPLOGIX

Applications Engineer

This was my second coop placement and I got to make it my own. I latched on to projects where I knew I could make a lasting impact on the company.

  • Worked alongside Senior Engineer to manage the company's largest client.
  • Developed a new system to completely elimate and automate a longstanding issue.
  • Led the creation of a simulation model to display at tradeshows to help visualize the product.
  • Created a technical document for usage of the company system for in-house and client use.

EVERTZ MICROSYSTEMS

Hardware Design Engineer

This was my first coop placement and it opened my eyes to world of large engineering companies. I learned what its like to be thrown into the deep end and have to learn on the job and found it exhilarating.

  • Created a testing protocol for a new PCB heading into production.
  • Learned about FPGAs, VHDL, and everything that goes into PCB layout.
  • Documented technical progress for a thorough hand-off to the next engineer.

E-BOTS ROBOTICS

Robotics and Programming Teacher

This was my main job during highschool and when I lived and breathed robotics. If I wasn't working on the robot for VEX Robotics, I was teaching students the fundamentals about building and programming robots.

  • Taught classes of up to 10 students about simple machines and structural systems and an introduction to basics of programing.
  • Gave feedback to students and parents about their child's progress through the classes.
  • Trained new teachers and mentored younger competitive robotics teams.

STAND UP + SPEAK

Public Speaking Instructor

This was an opportunity to give back to the community that gave me confidence. I had been competitively public speaking since a very young age and wanted to be able to share my skills with others.

  • Taught classes with over 20 students the importance of speaking effectively.
  • Mentored younger students through speech competitions.
  • Helped create a curriculum to inspire the next generation of leaders.
